How to decide what keywords you can target based on current client optimization.
Now that you understand what the ideal optimization is for the GBP and website, you can use that as a foundation for selecting keywords on a new campaign.
After you create a campaign and are ready to pick keywords, you can go look at there current GBP and website to create a list of keywords they are properly optimized for. You can compare this to the Potentially Valuable Keywords and Local Intent Keywords for a final list of options.
You want to look at:
- GBP Title
- GBP Categories
- GBP Products and Services
- GBP Description
- GBP Posts
- Website Home Page
- Links from the home page and their anchor text
- URLs of website pages
- Titles
- H2/H3 headings
- You can search in Google "site:hompageurl.com" and it will show you every indexed page of a website. This is a good way to find pages that exist but aren't linked in the site menu.
Using this list of keywords you pick 7 keywords and start the analysis. Once analysis is complete you can select or test other keywords.
